Painting In-Progress - December 15th,2009

”The seed of your next art work lies embedded in the imperfections of your current piece. Such imperfections (or mistakes, if you’re feeling particularly depressed about them today) are your guides -- valuable, reliable, objective, non-judgemental guides -- to matters you need to reconsider or develop further.” - David Bayles and Ted Orland

And so a new piece begins.....

Step 1 Raku w/pink rose

This pottery piece is going to be a fun challenge to paint! It will give me an opportunity to use several of the prima tek paints by Daniel Smith. These paints are rich, most are granular, giving added texture and depth to your painting. What I love the most is the mineral flecks (mica) that add a layer of sparkle and glitz. Not always obvious at first glance.... just adds another dimension to your work. Great for painting this piece of pottery.

This painting will be included in the upcoming Library Show in Creston-January & February 2010. *See sidebar for more information.

Have a great day!
