A New Watercolor Painting Started - with Raku Pottery, Birds, Grapes & Lace

"Creating a still life has all the excitement of putting on a play in which I get to be the playwright, set designer, director, star, supporting cast and even audience."  -Robert C. DeVoe

Step 1 - Raku pottery, birds, grapes & lace

I'm trying a slightly different style for my background.  I have used granulating paints and mineral paints(primatek line) allowing them to blend on the paper, then adding lot's of salt.  All the paints used are from the Daniel Smith Watercolor line.

*This is a bit of an experiment....hopefully the background won't be too busy, and take away from the foreground.

Stay tuned.....
Yours in art,
Laura Leeder
