On The Easel - Painting With Apple & Blossoms Nearly Completed

"I think that if you shake the tree, you ought to be around when the fruit falls to pick it up."     - Mary Cassatt

After a weekend away from the studio, I am ready to get back to work and hopefully complete this painting of an apple and it's blossoms.  The leaves are almost complete. Still more to do on the apple blossoms and cast shadow. I will remove the miskit on the apple and finish painting the stem, perhaps adjust the background colors slightly and lastly, add some lace detail to the foreground.

And if all goes well, and my other "errands" don't take long, that will all happen today!

Artfully Yours,

Did You Know......
-The apple has long been associated with immortality, as exemplified by its role in the tempting of Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden.
-The mystical Isle of Avalon, famed place of eternal rest for Celtic heroes including King Arthur, is literally "the apple land" or "apple island."
-In Scandinavian legends, the North-European gods and goddesses were fed an apple every evening by Iduna, the goddess of spring and youth who nurtures an apple orchard in Asgard.
