"Love is to the heart what the summer is to the farmer's year.... it brings to harvest all the loveliest flowers of the soul." ~unknown

What a great feeling it is to have finally completed the last painting for the upcoming Art Show, "A Kootenay Summer" at the Key City Theatre, Cranbrook, BC.
Summer Harvest celebrates my love of roses and the first ripe tomatoes of the season. My mouth waters in anticipation of that first bite into a juicy ripe tomato. There is nothing quite like it! And of course the scent of these delicate roses as they waft through the house. For me, there is sheer pleasure in entering a room with a bouquet of fresh cut roses sitting serenely in an old and cherished vase; or in this case, a beautiful crystal vase that sparkles in the light. It makes an ordinary day feel special and creates simple, happy memories of summers past.
If you had to choose, would it be a bouquet of roses from the garden or a bowl of home grown tomatoes? But then really, why choose when you can have them both?!
For now, I am happy to wait for springs first bulbs to bloom in my garden.
Have yourself a great weekend,
