The Solstice Barn, An Old Fashioned Art Sale And Holiday Celebration

Christmas waves a magic wand over this world, and behold, everything is softer and more beautiful.  ~Norman Vincent Peale

Last week I had the pleasure of attending an old fashioned holiday celebration and sale, hosted by artist Carol Schloss on her property in the Creston countryside.

This character barn as depicted in the painting above, was totally transformed into a  festive, winter destination that immediately put you into the holiday mood.

The visual feast started at the entrance to the barn where tables were set up with a display of handmade holiday wreaths, floral baskets and candle holders perfect for your holiday decor.

Even the trees are decorated with homemade snowflakes.

Inside an old wood stove billowed out smoke while keeping the barn warm. There was hot apple cider to sip while you explored the inside of the beautifully decorated barn.  The twinkling lights lent an air of warmth and coziness.

There was a variety of holiday decorations available for purchase.....

Even a wide range of christmas baking, all packaged for gift giving.

From jams and jellies to mouth watering baked goods.

Including chocolate treats and more beautiful homemade wreaths.

Artfully displayed for sale throughout the barn was Carol's pastel paintings.

Along with many of her reproduction prints,

Cleverly displayed here are fine art cards, featuring more images of Carol's artwork.

To see more of Carol's delightful paintings you can visit her website here.

Her paintings celebrate nature and are often of everyday scenes that she deftly transforms into spectacular images of light and colour as can be seen here in Evening Enterprise.

Back at home, I put the kettle on to enjoy a cup of tea along with the treat's I had purchased.  Hmmm, it appears that someone else got to them first!

Thanks for stopping by, have a wonderful week,

Your photos made me think - how did I miss that when I was there?. I guess I was too busy visiting to pay enough attention. Thanks for sharing
